Okay back to the topic, here are some of my favorite tips for travel photography.

WAKE UP BEFORE SUNRISE, STAY AWAKE AFTER SUNSET

The faster you’re, the better you get. I’m sure you’ve heard light is a necessary ingredient for best pictures, just like a good ingredient makes food tastier, same work lighting does in photography and soft, warm, morning light creates amazing images.

Waking up early also means you’ll have to deal with tourists and other photographers. Just be there at the right time and places like Taj Mahal or Colosseum has more tourist in the early morning as they look pretty dope when sunlight touches the surface of these buildings. Get there early you’ll get pretty much place for yourself.

Sunrise isn’t the only time to get good light. Sunset is also great. The hour after sunrise and hour before sunset is called Golden Hours because of their soft, warm tones and eye-pleasing shadows. Blue Hour is the hour after sunset or before sunrise when the sky is still blue, but city lights are turned on.

KNOW MORE ABOUT THE PLACE YOU’RE VISITING

Looking to improve your travel photography? here I am discussing how you can take better pictures while traveling. Here are some of my favorite tips for travel photography.

Read travel guidebooks, search on internet about your destination. Read blogs, talk to friends who have been there. Reach out to other travel photographers. Become more knowledgeable about which image will capture the essence of the place. Use Instagram and Google Image Search. I use them to learn where an iconic location is or how can I reach there.

Once I know about the place, I’ll do more research. Which time or season is best to be there, how difficult is it to reach certain vantage points? And when will tourist traffic be low? Wandering around with no plans will take more time, it’s better to collect information about the place, this will save your time so you can produce beautiful travel photography once you’re there.
