Mount Abu is watered by beautiful Nakki Lake which is close to Dilwara Temples. Thankfully, we stayed at Hotel Ashoka, which is just 500 meters away from Nakki Lake. This was a perfect hotel choice as we could enjoy Nakki Lake multiple times.

My Trip To Mount Abu

I and my family decided to visit Mount Abu in hot weather to get enjoy some chill and escape from the heat. No wonder it was the best decision! Its perfect place to travel if you want to travel in peace. Mount Abu is surrounded by forest and is situated at an altitude of 4000 feet above sea level. It is Rajasthan only hill station which is also a major tourist attraction in the hot season.

There is a lot to explore in Mount Abu. If you want to visit Mount Abu, then two days are more than enough. This will cover all the major sight scenes and tourist spots. However, if you want to explore Mount Abu, then I recommend you to stay at least 5 days. Travel around the area, go wild and enjoy the sweet weather.

Mount Abu is also Known as Cradle Of Civilization & Oasis in the Dessert

Mount Abu is watered by beautiful Nakki Lake which is close to Dilwara Temples. Thankfully, we stayed at Hotel Ashoka, which is just 500 meters away from Nakki Lake. This was a perfect hotel choice as we could enjoy Nakki Lake multiple times.

Places We Visited in Mount Abu

We visited almost all the places excluding some temples. In the end, we had a great time there! Mount Abu is such a great place.

Nakki Lake

Nakki Lake is situated in Aravali ranges in Mount Abu. Local people call it Nakki Jheel, keep that in mind if you want to take a rickshaw ride over there! It is one of the first Man Made lake in India with depth around 11,000 meters. Nakki Lake is located in the center of the hill station and is surrounded by the active market.

My little sister got tired of travelling around Nakki Lake. If you’re coming with small kids around, then be sure to take small breaks here and there and enjoy the scenery. You should definitely take the boat ride here if you visit Mount Abu.

Toad Rock

It is located just beside Nakki Lake, so you can cover both these destinations side by side.

The best part about Toad Rock is that you don’t have to buy any tickets! It is completely free to visit. However, you should take care of the safety measures, as there aren’t any railings to save you from accidental fall.

Guru Shikhar

It is situated at an altitude of 1722 meters and it is the highest peak in Rajasthan. Moreover, it is one of the best places to visit in mount Abu because of its pleasant weather.

A monkey we saw while driving way up to Guru Shikhar

It is approximately 15 kilometers away from the main market in Mount Abu. After reaching the top, you will have a great view of Abu and its surroundings. Also, we got to see some wild monkeys up here! This one right here was quite photogenic!

This is a photo we took while travelling up to Guru Shikhar. The weather always seems to be nice there which makes it a perfect chai spot!

Gaumukh Temple

It is the most difficult place to visit in Mount Abu. To reach there, you have to cross 700  stairs. However, after crossing the stairs, you will get to enjoy a beautiful Panoramic surrounding.

There are a lot of religious sentiments attached to the holy water which comes from the cow statue. Also, it is a great place to take some pictures around stones, old buildings, and stuff. Sounds perfect for an Instagram post.

Sunset point

Sunset point is a must visit tourist attraction in Mount Abu, you will love the scenic view when all the rays of the sun are mixing together. It is a great spot for nature lovers and enthusiast photographers.

While enjoying up on the sunset point, we got to meet this cute puppy. Apparently, there are a lot of street dogs here. Maybe because travellers seem to throw away a lot of food while travelling and these poor animals just visit here in hope to get something to eat. Nevertheless, we gave this dog some biscuits which he ate grazingly fast. He was really hungry.

Another great shot was taken there up on the hill.

You see what I was talking about? A lot of street dogs. But the best part is that they are very friendly and won’t bite.

Here you can enjoy all kind of adventurous sports in Mount Abu. Mountain climbing, trekking, rope jumping etc are just starters. Here are my sisters having fun on a little adventure park we got into. We even got to eat some fresh mangoes up here.

We enjoyed a lot in Mount Abu, However, I was not able to do adventure sports such as mountain climbing because of bad weather. But I will visit this place soon in coming summer vacations. This place is a really great hill station.
